If you are not comfortable adding color to your wardrobe to spruce up a day at the office, incorporating pieces with different structural elements is another simple way to step outside of the box.  Take my look today for example.  My color palette is neutral, a little boring, but to spruce it up a bit I wore a peplum top with my dress pants instead of a coordinating button up shirt.  I love peplum tops, they can be classy or sexy and at the same time it is a classic wardrobe staple. Belting the top adds a little pizazz as well.
